Sinbad's Perfect Chocolate Brownies Recipe
So simple and so delicious, these brownies can be dressed up with a fruit and chocolate sauce or can be eaten with such gusto that the crumbs get all over your shirt. We hope you enjoy these! Makes 12 brownies or 1 very large brownie.

For the Brownies

  • 1-1/2 sticks of butter (unsalted)
  • 8 oz. of the best bittersweet chocolate you can find
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon, plus 1 teaspoon instant espresso powder
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1-1/4 cups flour (all-purpose)
  • 3 teaspoons confectioner's sugar for garnish

Set you oven for 350. Using a little bit of butter and a paper towel grease a baking dish. Set up a double boiler and melt the chocolate. Be careful, you do not want the chocolate to burn. Melt the butter in the microwave. In a large bowl combine the melted butter and chocolate. Add the vanilla and espresso powder. Let cool for a few minutes. Now add the eggs and sugar and whisk till combined. Sift in the flour and add raisins. Fold all ingredients till combined. Pour into the greased dish and bake for about 25 minutes. Brownies should have crisp edges and soft middles. Cool and cut into squares.
